Highlights: A charming resort area that has long been a favorite holiday retreat for wealthy Turks, Alacati is increasingly catering to a broader European demographic. And one of the biggest influxes of tourism has been kite tourism: the Meltemi trade wind practically blows every day in Alacati, and some spots have the added benefit of a venturi wind on top. There’s nice sandy beaches for beginners, and even a wave spot at Prilanta beach when the wind is strong (wind swell). Note, like most windy destinations that benefit from localized wind patterns, wind forecasts generally under-represent the actual wind by 5 knots.
Closest International Airports: Chios (JKH) & Izmir (ADB)
Other Activities: Checkout Ephesus and other ancient archaeological sites. Boating & biking are popular, and there’s a fair bit of nightlife in the village.
