Destination Overview: Tarifa is well known within the kitesurf community and equally well known across Spain as a holiday hot spot! From bachelorette parties to those seeking culture and sun, Tarifa has something for everyone. You can stroll around the old town and get lost in its streets with many charming shops & restaurants. You can relax at the beach, check out the sand dunes, or check out the old roman ruins of Bolonia. If you want to go for a drive, you have many cute little fishing towns around. You can also go for a day trip to visit Marocco, Sevilla or Whale & dolphin watching.

Kitespot Overview: The small town of Tarifa offers you 35 km of wide and sandy beaches. You will find several spots to practice your favorite sport. The main Kitespots would be Los Lances, Los Lances Norte, Hurricanes, Valdevaqueros & Punta Paloma.

The best season for kitesurfing is from April to the end of October. Water temperature is generally between 19-22º and air temperature between 20-30º. April, May & October being the cooler but less busy months.

Other activities & things to do: Mountain Biking, Hiking, Surfing, Stand Up paddling, Climbing, ... there's really no shortage of outdoor activities!

Best beginner spot: Los Lances Norte

Best flat water spots: With Levante winds Los Lances & Los Lances Norte

Best wave spots in the area: Arte y Vida Kitespot, Los Lances & Valdevaqueros

Downwinders: With Poniente, downwind from the sand dunes down to Tarifa town on low and mid season and to Los lances Norte beach in high season.

Significant wind patterns: In Tarifa, we have two main winds, Levante (east) and Poniente (west). The Poniente in the summer months will normally be stronger than forecasted as it gets a thermal wind effect, and the Levante winds are always strong and powerful!!

After-kite drinks or other notable bars & restaurants: Enjoy some after-kitesurf drinks with us after the session at Chringuito Agua or Waves beach bar located right at the main Kitespot. There are also some nice places to have lunch close by like Pacha Mama & Powerhouse, where you can fuel up for your next session. In the evening there are many great tapas bars in the old town of Tarifa, just get lost in the streets of the old town and you will stumble across some great tapas bars like Los Melli, El Francés, Silos 19 and more.
